Amorphis vznikli v roce 1990 v Helsinkách a od té doby se vypracovali na špičku evropské metalové scény. "Eclipse" znamenalo začátek zcela nové éry v roce 2006, kdy se ke kapele připojil zpěvák Tomi Joutsen a do melancholického zvuku kapely znovu zavedl growl.
Dodnes je tato deska pravděpodobně jednou z nejdůležitějších v třicetileté kariéře Amorphis. Žádný koncert by se neobešel bez jejich největšího hitu "House Of Sleep", který byl na Spotify streamován více než 13 milionkrát a patří k hymnám, které si mohou zpívat téměř všichni metaloví fanoušci. Skutečné mistrovské dílo z počátků existence kapely a jejich první nahrávka, která se dostala rovnou na první místo finské hitparády (album i singl).
