"Lost Forever // Lost Together", the sixth studio album from the Brighton, England-based metalcore band, is on the one hand the most eclectic and ambitious album in the band's ten-year history, but also the most controlled. On their debut for the Epitaph label, they mixed a blend of brutal, thunderous metal and melodic hardcore with heavy riffs and intricate arrangements that are even influenced by bands like Sigur Ros. Lyrically, too, the assault on all the horrors of life is successful: topics range from the Fukushima nuclear disaster to guitarist, singer and songwriter Tom Searle's skin cancer. The album was recorded in Gothenburg, Sweden, with producers Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd. "We all love post-rock bands like This Will Destroy You and Sigur Ros," says Searle, "for us it was a way to bring something subtle to it and be heavy at the same time."
