Goodbye Lullaby, released in 2011, is the fourth studio album by Avril Lavigne.The album has a much softer and more acoustic sound than Lavigne's previous work. Goodbye Lullaby debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 chart and sold over 101,000 copies in its first week. The Recording Industry Association of America awarded the album a gold certificate, which indicates shipments of more than 500,000 copies in the United States.

Fanoušci Avril Lavigne museli na nové album kanadské hvězdy čekat více než tři roky - v březnu 2011 konečně nadešel čas: šestadvacetiletá hudebnice, skladatelka a producentka vydává své čtvrté album "Goodbye Lullaby". Tentokrát se na každé z písní alba podílela buď sama, nebo jako spoluautorka, a dvě skladby dokonce napsala a produkovala zcela sama.

Lavigne, která za posledních osm let prodala po celém světě více než třicet milionů alb a dvacet milionů písní/skladeb, si jako první singl vybrala charakteristické uptempo punk-popové číslo s názvem "What The Hell", které vzniklo ve spolupráci s popovým géniem Maxem Martinem (P!NK, Kelly Clarkson atd.).
