Avril Lavigne Her sixth album, Head Above Water, was released on 15 February 2019 and was produced by Stephan Moccio, David Hodges and Chris Baseford. Lavigne described the album as "spiritual and personal" and said many of the songs were written about her battle with Lyme disease. The album's lead single, the track "Head Above Water", was released on 19 September 2018. The album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 33,000 units in the United States in its first week. It also debuted at number one on the Canadian album chart, selling 16,000 copies in its first week. The album was certified gold in Canada.
