BAEST (= the Danish word for "beast") are a quintet from Denmark, only active since 2015, playing classic death metal that has a common denominator musically between Bloodbath, Dismember, Bolt Thrower and a dash of Morbid Angel from the 90s. On their debut album "Danse Macabre", mastered by Lawrence Mackrory (LIK, Firespawn, Decapitated), the guitars are played in the best Swedish style - the Boss HM-2 pedal can work wonders -, frontman Simon's vocals are beautifully deep, and the songs are both catchy and variedly arranged thanks to various atmospheric meanders, frantic blasts, excellent melodies and all-saying passages.
