The Belgian indie pop band Balthazar has already gained many fans in Germany after the release of their first album. Their concerts in Germany were almost all sold out, culminating in acclaimed appearances at festivals like Dockville and Immergut, as well as supporting Belgian friends dEUS. Now their new album is out with full promotional and marketing power. While the debut offered songs not dissimilar to those of Phoenix, for example, this truly extraordinarily talented quartet has evolved musically immensely in the meantime. Work on the new studio album was influenced by the legendary albums of Leonard Cohen and Serge Gainsbourg, as well as modern songwriters and bands like Devandra Banhardt and Other Lives.
