In 1997, Bill Frisell, one of the world's most innovative guitarists, openly embraced his love of Americana for the first time and opened a whole new chapter in his career. With his ninth album, Nashville, he said goodbye to the classic jazz quartet and delved into Native American musical traditions. In collaboration with Run Out Groove, Nonesuch is now releasing this groundbreaking album on double vinyl! Nashville recorded Frisell right here in Nashville and featured some of country music's finest musicians: Adam Steffey (mandolin), Ron Block (banjo, from the Union Station band Alison Krauss ), Jerry Douglas (dobro, Jerry Garcia, Hank Williams Jr. etc.) and Victor Krauss (bass, Lyle Lovett). In addition to several originals, the album includes a version of Neil Young's "One Of These Days" and Skeeter Davis' 1963 hit "The End Of The World", sung by Robin Holcomb. Frisell is regarded as one of the world's most inspirational guitarists and no evidence could be better than Nashville, which is a successful synthesis of different worlds and comes from a musician who said: "I like to move around to hear music from different perspectives."
