The album's title track was released as a single and reached number 26 on the UK Singles Chart. Mob Rules features the song "Die Young", written by singer Ronnie James Dio and guitarist Tony Iommi. The song was inspired by the death of John Lennon and was written after his murder. The album cover was designed by artist Lynn Curlee. It has a demon painted on it, with the album title and band name written over it.
