Black Sabbath : Reunion is an album by the heavy metal band Black Sabbath , released in 1998. It is the band's first album since 1978's Never Say Die! The album was recorded in the summer of 1997 with the original line-up of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. It was the band's only studio album with Ward since 1978 and the last album with Butler until 2013's 13. The album was a critical and commercial success, reaching number six on the UK Albums Chart and number eleven on the Billboard 200. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded it a gold certificate for a print run of 500,000 copies. The album spawned two singles, "Iron Man" and "God Is Dead?", both of which reached the top twenty of the UK Singles Chart. Music critics praised the album Reunion. Eduardo Rivadavia of AllMusic called it "an excellent comeback album" and "a triumphant return to form", while Dan Epstein of BBC Music said it was "a welcome return to form for the godfathers of heavy metal".
