června 1980 dostalo do obchodů, Marley and the Wailers předskakovali Fleetwood Mac v mnichovském Reitstadionu s kapacitou 69 000 diváků.
Marley mu vyhověl a na album zařadil skladby "Could You Be Loved", která se stala největším hitem alba, a "Coming In From The Cold", optimistickou a optimistickou melodii, která byla vybrána jako úvodní skladba.
A slova otevřela okno do zpěvákovy duše.

Bob Marley & The Wailers: Uprising LTD versie op vinyl LP in remastered limited editie.
Uprising was Bob Marley's last album, released during his lifetime. On the day the album hit the stores, June 10, 1980, Marley and the Wailers opened for Fleetwood Mac at Munich's Reitstadion with a capacity of 69,000. Whether or not Marley sensed his time was running out when writing Uprising, his final musical statement was an album with an incredible emotional resonance. Like Survival, Uprising was a deep and serious collection of songs that explored themes of sin and redemption with fire and brimstone. Recorded at Dynamic studios in an abandoned industrial area near Trench Town, Uprising was the band's tenth album for Island Records and was produced by Marley and the Wailers under the steady direction of Chris Blackwell. When Marley first presented Blackwell with the songs he wanted to include on the album, Blackwell advised him to add a few fast songs to redress the balance between the many slow and serious songs. Marley obliged with "Could You Be Loved", which became the album's biggest hit, and the upbeat "Coming In From The Cold", which was chosen as the opening track. But the song that truly defined Uprising, and became a worthy elegy to the biggest reggae star the world has ever seen, was the closing song "Redemption Song". The simple ballad, sung by Marley accompanied only by his own acoustic guitar, was a song and performance unlike anything he had ever recorded before. The simple arrangement - so simple it was impossible to tell it was a reggae song - was created with the help of the astute Blackwell. And the words opened a window into the singer's soul.
