It was seven days in Havana Buena Vista Social Club's debut album, also called "Buena Vista Social Club", was recorded in 1996. The seven-day recording session with Ry Cooder and Nick Gold at EGREM studios in Havana is now legendary. Over the years, the album has become the most successful Cuban music album and the best selling world music album ever. Already during the recording of the album and some of the subsequent concerts, director Wim Wenders began filming a documentary, also called "Buena Vista Social Club". The film and the big world tour were extremely successful and Buena Vista Social Club made new friends all over the world with its music from pre-revolutionary Cuba - "Son Cubano". Since then, all involved have been repeatedly asked if there is still unpublished material in the archive. And just such material is now available on the new album "Lost And Found". As the title suggests, the recordings were probably lost in the archives. The fourteen new tracks come in part from the aforementioned recording sessions, but also included are live recordings from immediately after the release of the debut album. "Lost And Found" offers another opportunity to hear the line-up from the original studio recordings. They include Cachaíto López, Guajiro Mirabal, Eliades Ochoa, Omara Portuondo and the now sadly departed Buena Vista Social Club members Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén González and Compay Segundo. The veterans are complemented by younger members who also support the Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club on tour. The songs are described as the musicians' favorite recordings and "Lágrimas Negras" is still one of the most popular Cuban songs. The sound is a seamless follow-up to the debut. In addition to piano, guitars, trombone and bass, laud and congas reappear in the arrangement. Buena Vista Social Club invites you to dance to rhythms from rumba to salsa. Bylo to sedm dní v Havaně

Debutové album skupiny The Buena Vista Social Club, nazvané rovněž "Buena Vista Social Club", bylo nahráno v roce 1996. Sedmidenní nahrávací session s Ry Cooderem a Nickem Goldem ve studiu EGREM v Havaně je dnes legendární. V průběhu let se album stalo nejúspěšnějším albem kubánské hudby a nejprodávanějším albem world music vůbec.

Během nahrávání alba a na některých následných koncertech začal režisér Wim Wenders natáčet dokumentární film "Buena Vista Social Club". Film i velké světové turné byly mimořádně úspěšné a Buena Vista Social Club si díky své hudbě z předrevoluční Kuby - "Son Cubano" - získali nové přátele po celém světě.

Od té doby jsou všichni zúčastnění opakovaně dotazováni, zda se v archivu nachází nějaký nevydaný materiál. A právě takový materiál se nyní nachází na novém albu "Lost And Found". Jak název napovídá, nahrávky se v archivu pravděpodobně ztratily. Čtrnáct nových skladeb pochází zčásti ze zmíněné nahrávací session, ale obsahuje i živé nahrávky z doby bezprostředně po vydání debutového alba.

"Lost And Found" opět nabízí možnost slyšet sestavu z původních studiových sessions. Jsou mezi nimi Cachaíto López, Guajiro Mirabal, Eliades Ochoa, Omara Portuondo a dnes již bohužel zesnulí členové Buena Vista Social Club Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén González a Compay Segundo. Veterány doplňují mladší hudebníci, kteří Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club podporují i na turné.

Skladby jsou osvědčenými oblíbenci hudebníků a "Lágrimas Negras" je stále jednou z nejoblíbenějších kubánských písní. Zvuk plynule navazuje na debut. Kromě klavíru, kytar, trombónu a baskytary se v aranžmá opět objevuje laúd a congas. Buena Vista Social Club vás zve k tanci v rytmech od rumby po salsu.

Na albu "Lost And Found" představuje Buena Vista Social Club skutečné poklady z archivu. Dosud nevydaný materiál z debutového alba je konečně k poslechu.
