It's None Of Your Business is Caravan's first album since Paradise Filter (2013) and features nine new songs and one instrumental track, all of which are somewhat influenced by the events and limitations of the company over the past 18 months. The album was recorded between 24 June and 4 July 2021 at Rimshot Studios in Bredgar near Sittingbourne "the old fashioned way". "We sat in a circle and made eye contact, which required a large sound space," explains Pye Hastings. 'I prefer this method because you can communicate ideas to each other as they come up and encourage each other when it all starts to click. And it's much more pleasant when we can scold each other in person rather than over a phone line or email. We're all very experienced at this, believe me!" This commonality characterises It's None Of Your Business with the typical warmth and humour of Caravan, but also with a sensitivity that reflects the times we live in. Interspersed between the typically whimsical tales of Down From London and If I Was To Fly are the heartfelt and poignant Spare A Thought and Every Precious Little Thing, looking forward to a return to normality.
