Children Of Bodom: I Worship Chaos versie op CD in standaard editie. Deze specifieke uitgave werd uitgebracht in Europa bij uitgeverij Nuclear Blast op 2. oktober 2015.
After their formation in the mid-90s, they got off to a start that all newcomers to the metal scene have had to contend with ever since - with almost every album they've released, they've achieved gold or even platinum status in their home country, and in the last two decades they've become regulars on the world's biggest stages - CHILDREN OF BODOM. Formed in 1993 by thirteen-year-old Alexi Laiho and fourteen-year-old Jaska Raatikainen, the young Finnish band was joined by two other talented instrumentalists, keyboardist Janne Wirman and bassist Henkka Seppälä, before recording their 1997 breakthrough debut "Something Wild", creating a congenial conglomerate whose members would inspire each other to new creative feats again and again over the next seven studio albums. Following this year's (in Alexi's words) "sweaty but incredibly fulfilling" birth, the youngest child of madness has been christened the aptly named "I Worship Chaos" and will reveal its raw, hate-skewed face to the metal world on October 2nd. The album was produced by the frontman, who had to record all the guitar parts alone for the first time due to his mutual separation from bandmate Roop Latvala, with his bandmates at his own Danger Johnny Studios along with his longtime collaborator Mikko Karmila, and was mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, the follow-up to the acclaimed last effort "Halo Of Blood" promises to go one step further in terms of darkness and catchiness to "really hurt" in the most enjoyable way imaginable! Visually supported by a post-apocalyptic cover artwork from the pen of Tuomas Korpi with a captivatingly oppressive atmosphere, the deluxe version comes complete with three excellent bonus cover versions, of which PLASMATICS' "Mistress Of Taboo" even features a guest appearance from MURDERDOLLS Wednesday13 singer and former GWAR Amazonian Kim Dylla aka Vulvatron, From front to back, "I Worship Chaos" inspires an unmistakable Bodomovian feel in its purest form that hasn't left fans and critics alike since the first sound of the opening riff of "Deadnight Warrior", and that has followed them to this day. So take a cue from frontman Alexi Lai: "Put on your helmets and lower your visors because something damn powerful is coming at you - in the best COB style!" Review. Therefore, already in the opener Lai's screams "motherfucker" several times, the highly explosive death/thrash mix is further enhanced by the surprisingly raw and direct production. Damn, loud I WORSHIP CHAOS sounds like Finns broke the living room at home!" (METAL HAMMER 6 / 7 points, Björn Springorum) "On "I Worship Chaos" the trend of the last album continues. CHILDREN OF BODOM now mainly compose robust songs without much pretension that catch the attention but are not heavy-handedly edited for catchiness. The record gets going right away, but remains appealing in the long run, which with a strong mid-tempo section means a lot. The Finns continue to entice with their stubborn blend of European melodies and thick Amish stuff that beats the zeitgeist and is guaranteed to be listenable years from now with no signs of wear and tear. I liked it." (LEGACY)
