Deep Purple played a legendary concert at the Long Beach Arena in California on February 27, 1976. With "Long Beach 1976", a mastered version of the live recording is now available on two CDs and three LPs. The show was first released in 1995 as "King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents: Deep Purple in Concert". A new version of the live album followed in 2009 under the title "Live at Long Beach 1976". The album "Long Beach 1976" features the so-called Mark IV line-up of Deep Purple, consisting of singer David Coverdale, guitarist and vocalist Tommy Bolin, keyboardist Jon Lord, bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes and drummer Ian Paice. This line-up, without Ritchie Blackmore for the first time, lasted only 1975-1976 and produced only one studio album. Deep Purple played some of their biggest hits together, including "Smoke On The Water" and "Highway Star". In addition to a recording of the Long Beach performance, "Long Beach 1976" contains four bonus tracks. This is also a live recording of Deep Purple's concert in Springfield in January 1976, which is of high rarity value. Deep Purple's legendary Mark IV live album "Long Beach 1976" has been reissued.
