Jednou z nejvýznamnějších skupin gothic rockového hnutí je skupina Fields Of The Nephilim, která vznikla v roce 1983. Skupina pojmenovaná podle biblické obří bytosti Nephilim vystupovala ve stylu postapokalyptického italského westernu Sisters Of Mercy v čele se zpěvákem Carlem McCoyem.
Jejich hudba se jednoznačně vyznačuje spíše hardrockem, metalem a psychedelickým rockem a ovlivnila i řadu deathmetalových kapel. Texty se vyznačují magickou a okultní tematikou, což z Fields Of The Nephilim činí kultovní postavy dark wave a gotické scény.

"5 Albums Box Set" obsahuje první čtyři alba anglické kapely: "Dawnrazor" (1987), "The Nephilim" (1988), "Elysium" (1990), živé album "Earth Inferno" (1991) a také kompilaci "Singles & Mixes" vydanou speciálně pro tento komplet, z nichž některé jsou na CD k dispozici poprvé.
