The American metal band's fourth album was originally released in 2013. Commenting on the band's decision to release two albums, guitarist Zoltan Bathory said: "After a great few years on tour, we threw ourselves full force into writing the fourth album. Everyone was in the right frame of mind and the band was more cohesive than ever. It was the perfect moment. We started and after 12-13 songs we realised the material was getting better, so we looked at each other and said... well, why stop? ... let's keep going. When we finished the 24th song, we knew we had to make a double album. We had a huge amount of music that was very important to us, maybe the best material the band had ever done. At that point it was impossible to decide which songs to delete from the album. So we decided to release them all."

Five Finger Death Punch se při nahrávání svého nového dvojalba "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Vol. 1 & 2", které vyjde ve dvou částech, rozhodně nevydali cestou nejmenšího odporu. Kvintet z Las Vegas, který v USA získal několik zlatých ocenění, představuje své dosud nejoslnivější, nejambicióznější a nejsilnější dílo. Zvedněte pěsti do vzduchu a připravte se ponořit do "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Vol. 1 & 2".

Vydat dvě alba během několika měsíců se někomu může zdát trochu ambiciózní, ale Five Finger Death Punch jsou zvyklí nenaplňovat očekávání ostatních. Navzdory všem předpokladům se tato pětice od svého vzniku v roce 2006 snaží dostat na heavy metalový Olymp. Jejich první tři alba "The Way Of The Fist" (2007), "War Is The Answer" (2009) a "American Capitalist" (2011) dosáhla v domovské zemi zlatého statusu a celosvětově se jich prodalo přes čtyři miliony kopií. Kapela měla deset singlů v první desítce americké rozhlasové hitparády Active Rock a v roce 2012 se s "Coming Down" dokonce dostala na první místo.
"American Capitalist" se dostalo do Billboard Top 200 na třetí místo. FFDP tak jednou provždy dokázali, že heavy metal definitivně dorazil do mainstreamu. A přesto se kapela rozhodla na čtvrtém a pátém albu zvednout laťku ještě o něco výš. S jasným cílem se v listopadu 2012 vydali s producentem Kevinem Churkem (Ozzy Osbourne, In This Moment) do Hide Out Studios v Las Vegas.

Natočení dvou alb pomohlo pětici umělecky se rozvinout jako nikdy předtím. A poprvé v kariéře si kapela přizvala ke spolupráci legendární přátele. Zpěvák Judas Priest Rob Halford svým jedinečným hlasem dotváří první singl "Lift Me Up". Poté, co Rob vysvětlil, že je fanouškem kapely, bylo jasné, že ho osloví.

Jinde nezaměnitelný řev frontmana Soulfly Maxe Cavalery podtrhuje bombastickou a brutální píseň "I. M. Sin", zatímco hlava Hatebreed Jamey Jasta se překřikuje v moshpitu "Dot Your Eyes and Cross Your Teeth". Největším experimentem je však coververze hitu LL Cool J "Mama Said Knock You Out", na které se nepodílel nikdo jiný než rapový titán Tech N9ne.

Five Finger Death Punch se však stali otevřenějšími nejen v hudební, ale i v osobní rovině. Rozhodně se zde objevují zranitelné momenty jako v poetických skladbách "M. I.N. E." a "Cold" i brutální a zlé riffové exploze a výkřiky jako v "Burn Motherfucker" a "Watch You Bleed".
