Kultovní album George Michaela "Older" vyšlo poprvé u Virgin Records 13. května 1996 a přineslo hvězdě nebývalý úspěch v hitparádách. LP se ve Velké Británii udrželo tři týdny na prvním místě a v první desítce strávilo celkem 35 týdnů. Z "Older" vyšlo šest singlů, z nichž se na první místo dostaly také "Fastlove" a věčná klasika "Jesus To A Child". Další čtyři singly se vyšplhaly do Top 3.
Album bylo komerčně velmi úspěšné i ve světě. Dosáhlo platinového statusu ve 22 zemích a jen ve Velké Británii se stalo šestkrát platinovým. Úspěch, který se dodnes žádnému jinému umělci nepodařilo zopakovat.

"Older" bylo třetím sólovým albem George Michaela. Zde experimentoval s novými hudebními styly a rozšířil své umělecké obzory. Kritika album, kterým se zpěvák vyrovnával s obzvláště bouřlivou etapou svého života, oslavovala jako triumfální úspěch.
George na albu "Older" znovu prožívá bouřlivé a bolestné okamžiky a směruje je do písní, které sám složil a produkoval. Tak se "Older" stalo nejosobnějším albem jeho života.

George Michael Older's cult album was first released on 13 May 1996 on Virgin Records and brought the star unprecedented success in the charts. The album stayed at number one in the UK for three weeks and spent a total of 35 weeks in the top ten. Six singles were released from the Older album, including "Fastlove" and the eternal classic "Jesus To A Child". Four more singles climbed into the Top 3. The album was also commercially very successful worldwide. It reached platinum status in 22 countries and went platinum six times in the UK alone. A success that no other artist has been able to repeat to this day. The earlier was George Michael's third solo album. Here he experimented with new musical styles and expanded his artistic horizons. Critics hailed the album, on which the singer came to terms with a particularly unpleasant phase of his life, as a triumphant success.
