In contrast to the debut recording Light in the Dark, the new album was created with an already established line-up, with all band members involved in the creation of new songs. The production was once again handled by the proven Martin Ledvina, whom the band considers to be its eighth member. Jelen draws on its folk roots here, but the songs are also permeated with the legendary concert energy with which it has been conquering Czech stages for the past two years. The album Vlčí srdce features a guest appearance by fellow singer-songwriter Kateřina Marie Tichá, who sings on the song Slunovrat, while Vu Thao Chi, a talented Vietnamese singer from Plzeň, gets a slot on two tracks. The opening song Sám sebou (Myself) is specific, built unconventionally only on vocals without musical accompaniment. In the near future, the Christmas song will surely come in handy, which presents the theme of the holidays from the other, slightly sadder side.
