This seminal British blues album gave Clapton the opportunity to finally showcase his skills and made him a star. The recording was made in 1966 during Clapton's brief stint with the Bluesbreakers, shortly after he left the Yardbirds (where other legendary guitarists like Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck were born) and before the formation of Cream. Product information This seminal British blues album gave Clapton the opportunity to finally show what he could do, and unsurprisingly shot him to stardom. Recorded in 1966 during Clapton's brief stint with the Bluesbreakers, just after leaving the Yardbirds (which spawned other legendary guitarists like Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck) and before Cream. Founded by John Mayall in 1962, the Bluesbreakers consisted of an ever-changing lineup that included such notable musicians as Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones), John McVie (Fleetwood Mac) and Larry Taylor (Canned Heat). For Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton, Mayall asked a young Eric Clapton, who had just left the Yardbirds and had not yet formed Cream. The result was a groundbreaking, if not the best, British blues album of 1966. Working with Clapton cemented his reputation as an outstanding blues guitarist. The sound he created with a Gibson Les Paul and a Marshall amplifier was unique. However, it could only be produced when the amplifier was working at its limits - which meant huge volume. Sound engineer Gus Dudgeon tried in vain to get Clapton to turn the sound down. In the end, it was producer Mike Vernon who decided that the guitarist would come through: "I was very impressed, especially with the aggressiveness of his playing, the hardness. Roger Dean, his predecessor, was not a bad musician [...] but Eric's playing changed the band." UHQCD stands for Ultimate High Quality Compact Disc and is a joint development between Memory-Tech, a Japanese CD replication company, and the Audio Quality CD Company of Hong Kong. Unlike conventional CDs, UHQCDs are not molded from polycarbonate, but are cast from photopolymer and cured with UV light. To protect the softer photopolymer from scratches, an additional layer of high purity polycarbonate is applied. The result of this combination is a significant reduction in laser light reflection inside the CD and an unparalleled precise edge transition between the pits and the CD soils. UHQCDs are 100% compatible with conventional CD players. Musically, the result is a sound image strongly reminiscent of analog master tapes. In addition, the discs offered by Universal Japan are encoded with MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) technology. If you output a digital signal from the digital output of a CD player or a previously ripped data stream from a music server to the appropriate MQA-DA converter, you can generate a 24-bit signal from CD data with a sampling rate of up to 352 Khz. The current UHQCD series is based on the DSD data of single-layer SHM SACDs released by Universal Music Japan in previous years. This makes UHQCDs ideal for music lovers who want to get as close to the sound of a recording as possible but do not own a SACD player.
Album valt binnen het genre Rock, Blues, Blues Rock, Elektrische blues, Blues uit Chicago en Harmonica Blues.
