"The Path of Totality" is the tenth studio album by American nu-metal band Korn. Originally released in 2011, Korn changed direction and explored new territories on the album. For "The Path of Totality", the band collaborated with the world's leading dubstep and electronic producers such as Skrillex, Excision, Datsik, Noisia, Kill the Noise and 12th Planet. The result was something completely new, yet completely and definitively Korn. "The title 'The Path of Totality' refers to the fact that to see the sun during a total eclipse, you have to be in the right place at the right time," explained Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. It includes the singles "Get Up!", "Narcissistic Cannibal", "Way Too Far" and "Chaos Lives In Everything". "The Path of Totality" won Album of the Year at the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards. It was Korn's first win at the Golden Gods Awards, a ceremony that celebrates the best in hard rock and heavy metal music. Korn was also inducted into the Kerrang! Hall of Fame in 2011 during the Kerrang! Awards.
Album valt binnen het genre Rock, Elektronische muziek, Dubstep en Nu-metaal. 180g Vinyl.

KoЯn's tenth studio album "The Path of Totality" will be released in December, but don't expect a typical KoЯn album. The Path of Totality" is a very experimental album where KoЯn shifted gears and entered new territory. For die-hard KoЯn fans, however, this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, as the band (and the rock scene as a whole) has been constantly evolving since their first big successes in the 90s. On "The Path of Totality" KoЯn collaborated with leading dubstep and electro producers such as Skrillex, Excision, Datsik, Noisia, Kill the Noise and 12th Planet. The result is something completely new, but still clearly deserving of the KOЯN label. The title The Path of Totality refers to the fact that to see the sun during a total eclipse, you have to be in the right place at the right time," explains frontman Jonathan Davis. "That's how this album came about. I think all the producers feel the same way. I'm not sure that can ever happen again." The current, highly acclaimed single "Get Up!" was created in collaboration with one of dubstep's hottest producers, Skrillex, and became a completely unexpected hit over the summer. The hype began at this year's Coachella festival, where Jonathan and Munky joined Skrillex on stage in the dance tent and performed the song - unannounced. Since then, it has sold over 150,000 download copies and the lyric video has been viewed nearly two million times - and the trend is on the rise. Even after 24 weeks since the song's release, interest is far from over. James "Munky" Shaffer says, ""Get Up!" started out as a bit of an experiment, but we had such an amazing response from our fans and had such a great time collaborating that we created a whole album of songs in a few months. Every day we couldn't wait to get into the studio and finish the next song." "Narcissistic Cannibal", "Burn The Obedient". "Illuminati", "Kill Mercy Within" and "Chaos Lives In Everything" are just a few of the tracks that appear on the tracklist.(roadrunnerrecords. de) Review ,,The combination of electronic sounds and hard rock music is not as exceptional as some might claim. In the case of Korn, however, it works exceptionally well." (Stereoplay, February 2012) , "The blend makes you want more - as Revolver magazine, which voted Korn's new album the 2011 Record of the Year, found out."
