Captivating, ethereal, and majestic, Mammal Hands (saxophonist Jordan Smart, pianist Nick Smart, and drummer and percussionist Jesse Barrett) have created a refreshingly original sound from a wide range of influences: they've drawn from spiritual jazz, North Indian, folk, and classical music to create something that's all their own. Hailing from Norwich, one of the UK's most isolated and eastern cities, they are forging their own path outside the musical mainstream, their unique sound born from long improvised rehearsals. All three members contribute equally to the writing process, prioritising the creation of strong group dynamics over individual solos. Their records are mesmerising and beautiful, while their hypnotic live performances mark them out as one of Europe's most exciting bands as they push their unique line-up to the limit.
