Manic Street Preachers s krásným výhledem Kvantita a kvalita: Manic Street Preachers umí obojí. Britpopoví hrdinové alternativního rocku z Walesu vydali za posledních 30 let 13 alb. Jedenáct z nich se dostalo do první desítky britské hitparády.

Nejlepší předpoklady pro jejich nové, čtrnácté album. "The Ultra Vivid Lament" je nástupcem "Resistance Is Futile" z roku 2018 a obsahuje celkem deset nových písní z pera zpěváka Jamese Deana Bradfielda. Kapela nahrávala desku ve vlastním studiu "Door To The River" v Newportu a v "Rockfield Studios" v Monmouthu. Za řízením stál producent Dave Eringa, který několikrát pracoval pro Manic Street Preachers. Na albu se objevují také dva speciální hostující zpěváci: Mark Lanegan ve skladbě "Blank Diary Entry" a Julia Cumming z amerických rockerů Sunflower Bean ve skladbě "The Secret He Had Missed".

Manic Street Preachers již popsali "The Ultra Vivid Lament" jako reflexi a reakci, jako desku, která nahlíží skrz zaneřáděnou místnost v izolaci, zamračenou často bolestnými vzpomínkami, aby se zaměřila na otevřené okno, které nabízí třpytivý pohled na zemi, jež se slévá v moře a nekonečné nebe.

'The Ultra Vivid Lament' is the title of the follow-up to 2018's 'Resistance Is Futile', which featured a total of ten new songs from singer James Dean Bradfield. The band recorded the album at their own studio "Door To The River" in Newport and at "Rockfield Studios" in Monmouth. Producer Dave Eringa, who has worked for the Manic Street Preachers on several occasions, was in charge. The album also features two special guests, Mark Lanegan on the song "Blank Diary Entry" and Julia Cumming of US rockers Sunflower Bean on the track "The Secret He Had Missed".
