Protection is an album by Massive Attack , released in 1994. The album was produced by the band and Neil Davidge. It was their second album and was released on Virgin Records. The album contains the singles "Protection", "Karmacoma" and "Teardrop". The album was a critical and commercial success, reaching number one in the UK and number five on the US Billboard 200 chart. It went platinum in the UK and gold in the US. Protection is often cited as one of the greatest albums of all time and was included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
