Rapper Nas, who was born Nasir Jones in 1972 on Long Island, has been railing against anything he doesn't like with increasing success since his 1994 debut, "Illmatic." This has included gangsta rap, which the Jackson 5 fan strictly rejects. This didn't hurt him at all - his fans still "redeemed" the disc to number five on the US charts.
