In the past, Paul McCartney hasn't often talked about his musical role models and the artists who inspired him when writing his songs. But that will change with the new album. In fact, Paul is releasing an album called "Kisses On The Bottom" on February 7, where he pays homage to these heroes of his! But the album will also feature several new compositions inspired by these artists. "I've been thinking about this project for a number of years, but only this time I said to myself that if I don't make an album like this now, I'll never make it again," says the artist himself about the whole project. The album was recorded at the legendary Capitol Studios in New York, Los Angeles and London, under the production direction of Grammy Award-winning Tommy LiPum, as well as singer-songwriter Diana Krall and her band. The recording sessions were a completely new experience for McCartney himself. This is the first record on which he is featured only as a singer, leaving his legendary guitar in the corner. "The whole recording process was very spontaneous to the point of being organic, it made me think of my time with The Beatles. Back then we just came up with a song, put it out there and tried to record it in many ways and many arrangements until we were satisfied," McCartney says. The album, which also recalls the work of such legends as Fred Asteire, Harold Arlen and Cole Porter, among others, also features two exclusive guests. One of the songs features Stevie Wonder, the other features Eric Clapton. These are two other musical personalities who are also great musical role models for McCartney.
