The album marked a return to McCartney's rock and roll roots and featured several guest musicians, including Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton and Dave Stewart. The album was commercially successful, reaching number two on the UK Albums Chart and number six on the Billboard 200. The album spawned two hit singles, "Off the Ground" and "Hope of Deliverance".
