Pearl Jam, one of the most popular bands of the 90s, is releasing their eleventh album Gigaton on March 27. This is the first new album since 2013's Grammy-winning Lightning Bolt. The album cover, which features an image of a melting glacier in Norway, was designed by marine biologist and photographer Paul Nicklen. "Recording Gigaton was a long, thorny road," explains guitarist Mike McCready. "At times it was emotionally dark and confusing, but it was also an exciting and experimental journey towards musical redemption. Collaborating on the album with my bandmates definitely showed me another dimension of love, awareness and knowledge that is much needed in more difficult times." Pearl Jam, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017, this year celebrate 30 years of live performance, hundreds of live recordings, eleven studio albums, 85 million records sold and an uninterrupted tenure as one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful bands in music history.
