Phoebe Bridgers' anticipated second album for 2020 Phoebe Bridgers released her debut album in 2017 as a relatively unknown singer-songwriter from Los Angeles. A little more than two years later, she's an internationally acclaimed musician with three renowned works to her credit: her solo debut Stranger In The Alps, the boygenius EP with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus in 2018, and Better Oblivion Community Center, a surprise collaboration with Conor Oberst, in 2019. Bridgers is a remarkable talent and artist who treats herself and her meteoric musical career with ample humor. New album Punisher was written and recorded between the summer months of 2018 and the fall of 2019 - the songs once again reveal Bridgers as an irresistibly smart and soulfully prolific songwriter for our time. Bridgers, who also co-produced the boygenius EP and Better Oblivion Community Center album, once again collaborated with Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska on the new songs, as she did on Stranger In The Alps. They were joined in the studio by their close musical friends - including Bridger's band of Marshall Vore (drums), Harrison Whitford (guitar), Emily Restas (bass) and Nick White (piano), as well as appearances by Conor Oberst ("Halloween", "I Know The End"), Lucy Dacus ("Graceland Too", "I Know The End"), Julien Baker ("Graceland Too", "I Know The End"), Blake Mills ("Halloween", "Savior Complex" and "I Know The End"), Jenny Lee Lindberg ("Kyoto", "ICU"), Christian Lee Hutson ("Garden Song", "Halloween", "Savior Complex", "I Know The End"), Nick Zinner ("I Know The End"), legendary drummer Jim Keltner ("Halloween" and "Savior Complex") and Nathaniel Walcott of Bright Eyes on trumpet ("Kyoto" and "I Know The End"). The Punisher" was mixed by Mike Mogis, as was "Stranger In The Alps".
