The album Long Live Rock 'N' Roll received mixed reviews from music critics. Eduardo Rivadavia of AllMusic gave the album three stars out of five, stating that it "was not as groundbreaking as its predecessor, but it was still a strong effort". He further stated that "the highlights of the album were the aforementioned hard rock anthems, as well as the more progressive and atmospheric tracks". However, Paul Suter of Kerrang! magazine gave the album five stars out of five.
