Following the huge success of last year's 40th anniversary edition of the Ramones' debut album "Ramones", a deluxe version of the second album Leave Home is now available. First released in January 1977, this 30-minute work sees the Ramones throw iconic songs such as "Pinhead", "California Sun" and "Swallow My Pride" at their fans. To appropriately celebrate the landmark anniversary of the immortal punk rock album, Rhino is releasing "Leave Home" in a limited edition of 15,000 copies of the 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition as a 3CD/1LP with two different mixes of the album: on CD 1, the remastered original mix and a brand new 40th Anniversary Mix created by sound engineer and mixer Ed Stasium, who also contributed to it at the time. The other two CDs contain previously unreleased demo material and live recordings from CBGB's that were made in 1977. The deluxe edition comes in an LP-sized sleeve (30 x 30 cm) designed like a book. The booklet features coverage of the band by music journalist Michael Azerrad, based on narration by former Ramones manager Danny Fields. Ed Stasium also reports on the making of the album.

Ramones : Leave Home is the second studio album by American punk rock band The Ramones , released on January 10, 1977 by Sire Records. The album was recorded in November 1976 and was produced by Tommy Erdelyi. The album was the band's first album to chart on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States, where it reached number 111. The album also contains the group's first single "Blitzkrieg Bop". Critical reception of the album was mixed, with some reviewers criticizing the band's simplistic songwriting. In retrospect, however, the album was praised by music critics and is now considered one of the Ramones' best albums. Ramones : Leave Home was remastered and re-released in 2001 with two bonus tracks.
