Santana The album Moonflower, released in 1977, is a blend of rock, jazz and Latin sounds. The album has been praised for its instrumental virtuosity and experimentation. Moonflower reached number two on the Billboard 200 and was certified triple platinum by the RIAA.

Přestože Santana byl svými živými vystoupeními proslulý již od svého vystoupení na Woodstocku, toto album z roku 1977 bylo jeho prvním živým albem (ať už bylo proloženo řadou studiových nahrávek). Představuje to nejlepší ze Santany v polovině sedmdesátých let: latinou prodchnutý blues/rock, duchovní jazzovou fúzi, nezastavitelnou energii Santany na pódiu. Jako singl byla vydána coververze písně She's Not There od skupiny The Zombies z poloviny šedesátých let, která se stala Santanovým prvním hitem v Top 40 po více než pěti letech.
