When Slowdive broke up in 1995, fans liked to identify it with the end of shoegaze. The last sign of Slowdive's life was the album ,,Pygmalion", which was completely different and much more abstract after ,,Just For A Day" and ,,Souvlaki". While on "Souvlaki" the band put more emphasis on song structure, "Pygmalion" was brimming with ambient electronic interludes. Ultimately, "Pygmalion" is a more cohesive album than its predecessor. Tracks like "Blue Skied An' Clear" and "Crazy For You" show that the songs are still there - they're just hiding under more abstract sounds than before.

British band Slowdive was formed in 1989 in Reading. After signing to Creation Records, Slowdive released their debut eponymous EP. Their music was influenced by The Byrds and My Bloody Valentine, and Rachel Goswell's angelic vocals and Neil Hatstead and Christian Saville's psychedelically roaring guitar walls thrilled the English music press and fans of the shoegazer sound."Pygmalion" is the title of Slowdive's last album, released in 1995, and unlike the previous two albums, the experimental sounds here were more prevalent, with a style more in the realm of ambient electronic music. This reissue also includes a bonus CD with rare demo versions that were not previously available on CD. Remastered.
