New mini-album by Steven Wilson Multi-instrumentalist, producer, sound engineer and founder of the English progressive rock band Porcupine Tree Steven Wilson returns in 2016 with a new album. "4 1/2" is the title of the mini-album, which features a total of six songs. It is a sort of interlude that follows his fourth solo album "Hand." from 2015. Can't. Erase." and a precursor to his fifth LP, which will be released at some point - hence the title "4 1/2." The six tracks, which run a total of 37 minutes, include two brand new songs, two outtakes from Hand. Can't. Erase" and one from "Raven That Refused To Sing," Wilson's third solo record. Another highlight of "4 1/2" is a version of "Don't Hate Me". Based on a live recording, the 1998 Porcupine Tree song was recorded by Steven Wilson with Israeli singer Ninet Tayeb. For the recording of "4 1/2", Wilson was assisted by musicians Guthrie Govan (guitar), Nick Beggs (bass), Marco Minnemann (drums), Adam Holzman (keyboards) and Theo Travis (flute/saxophone). Multiinstrumentalista, producent, zvukový inženýr a zakladatel anglické progresivní rockové skupiny Porcupine Tree Steven Wilson se v roce 2016 vrací s novým albem. "4 1/2" je název minialba, které nám přináší celkem šest písní.

Jedná se o jakési prozatímní vydání, jako pokračování jeho čtvrtého sólového alba "Hand. Cannot. Erase." a předchůdcem pátého LPho alba, které vyjde v určitém okamžiku - odtud název "4 1/2".

Šest skladeb má celkovou hrací dobu 37 minut, včetně dvou zbrusu nových písní, dvou outtaků z "Hand. Cannot. Erase" sessions a jednu z "Raven That Refused To Sing", Wilsonovy třetí sólové desky. Dalším vrcholem na "4 1/2" je verze písně "Don't Hate Me". Píseň Porcupine Tree z roku 1998, která vychází z živé nahrávky, nazpíval Steven Wilson společně s izraelskou zpěvačkou Ninet Tayeb.
