Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble The album "In Step", released in 1989, was a critical and market success. The album included the hits "The House is Rockin'" and "Crossfire" and was certified platinum by the RIAA. "In Step" was Vaughan's most successful album and is considered by many to be his best. The album's blues-rock sound was a departure from Vaughan's earlier work and helped define the genre in the late 1980s.

On 1989's In Step, Vaughan found a voice to match his own, blending blues, soul and rock in a unique way and writing his songs with surprising emotional honesty. Sure, there are a few cover versions, all well-chosen, but the heart of the album are the songs he wrote with Doyle Bramhall, the man who also wrote the album's highlight, "Change It," on Soul To Soul. Driven by a desire to make up for lost time and revel in his newly awakened devotion to life and sobriety, Vaughan has created this work of art that many consider to be his best - an album of mid-sweat, soul and determination, without a shred of filler. "Travis Walk" offers a heady onslaught of fast-paced picking, "The House is Rockin'" is a full-blooded roots-boogie, "Let Me Love You Baby" and "Leave My Girl Alone" are stunning blues revelations, and the nine-minute instrumental "Riviera Paradise" is a truly soulful blend of blues and jazz. Now, just a year before his untimely death, Vaughan has tamed his by-then somewhat booming voice into a polished instrument. In short, Vaughan is at the height of his powers on this 1989 recording. As with our lauded boxed reissue of "Texas Hurricane," Analogue Productions presents these Stevie Ray Vaughan tracks with superb sound on 200g vinyl. Ryan Smith of Sterling Sound is responsible for cutting the vinyl using the latest VMS 80 cutting machine. Gary Salstrom handled the electroplating and of course the vinyl was pressed by Quality Record Pressings. "In Step" is still one of the top five blues records of the last quarter century. Not a single link in this chain is absolutely first-rate, the best money can buy. We love the blues and Stevie Ray, and it shows here.
