Sting has shown in his previous albums that he is excited about returning to his roots, which are important to him. As well as a return to Anglo-Saxon musical foundations such as the traditionalists and the music of Henry Purcell, there is new music, original works by Sting or his friends, and finally, as the icing on the beautiful Christmas pudding, arrangements of tunes by Franz Schubert and Johann Sebastian Bach.
