Remastered, expanded and back on vinyl Britpop fans be warned: after a reunion show in 2019 and a career retrospective "The Strange Ones: 1994-2008" released in 2020, Supergrass are re-releasing their second album "In It For The Money" in 2021, completely remastered on an expanded 3CD and on vinyl with a bonus 12ʺ single. This is the first reissue of the album on vinyl. The follow-up to 1995 debut album "I Should Coco", which went straight to number one in the UK charts, was released two years later in 1997 and was also a huge success in the UK, reaching number two. The album sold almost half a million copies there and spawned four Top 20 hits: 'Going Out', 'Richard III', 'Sun Hits The Sky' and 'Late In The Day'. The British music magazine NME (New Musical Express) ranked it among the top ten albums of 1997. "In It For The Money" was recorded with producer John Cornfield at Sawmills studios in Cornwall. However, Supergrass only wrote two songs before entering the studio. The other ten songs were written during the recording process. Even today it is considered one of the highlights of late Britpop. The new Deluxe Extended Edition includes the remastered album on CD and two additional CDs with 43 tracks, including B-sides, rarities, outtakes and live tracks, many of which have never been released before. Two vinyl editions are also available. 180g black vinyl version with an additional 140g white vinyl 12ʺ single. This single features the song "Sun Hits The Sky (Bentley Rhythm Ace Remix)" on one side and "The Animal" on the other. The second vinyl version comes in a limited edition 140g turquoise vinyl and white 12ʺ single. The songs are the same. All songs were remastered by the band from analog tapes for the reissue. The new reissues also include visuals by photographer Kevin Westenberg and sleeve notes by Charles Shaar Murray. Supergrass was formed in Oxford in 1993. The band was formed from the group The Jennifers. Today it is one of the most important and successful bands of the 90s Britpop wave. They started their career in 1995 with their debut "I Should Coco" and the hit single "Alright". Five more albums followed until their break-up in 2010: 'In It For The Money' (1997), 'Supergrass' (1999), 'Life On Other Planets' (2002), 'Road To Rouen' (2005) and 'Diamond Hoo Ha' (2008). All albums will now be released in a reworked version.
