The double album "Paris" (on which the band are hailed as rock gods) is followed by "Famous Last Words," the last album with Hodgson before he embarks on a successful solo career. If there was tension in the band's ranks, it was only heightened. The combination of heavy progressive themes with house pop sass was another worldwide sensation. The long-playing tracks "Waiting So Long" and "Don't Leave Me Now" flooded the radio airwaves; the big hit "It's Raining Again" (accompanied by Russell Mulcahy's impressive and influential music video) continued to bring Acker revenue through his use of the Fox Networks television station for weather forecasts. Regrouping after Hodgson's departure from Brother Where You Bound allows Davies to shine. His song "Cannonball" was a hit, but far from the only reason to see this disc now. The Cold War-inspired sixteen-minute title track boasts the duo of guitarists Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd: longtime fans will be pleased to discover that Supertramp haven't abandoned their progressive background after all.
