To celebrate the moment, The Beatles will release a series of exclusively presented anniversary editions of 'Sgt. Pepper' on May 26 (Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/USM). The album is newly mixed by Giles Martin and Sam Okell in stereo and 5.1 surround audio, and augmented with early studio session recordings - 34 previously unreleased tracks in total."It's crazy to think that fifty years later we look back on this project with so much love and also with wonder at how four guys, one great producer and his engineers actually managed to create such an ageless work of art," says Paul McCartney in his new introduction to the anniversary edition of 'Sgt. Pepper ' producer Giles Martin and mix engineer Sam Okell worked with an expert team of engineers and audio restoration specialists at Abbey Road Studios in London. All Anniversary Editions include Martin's new stereo mix of the album, which was taken directly from the original four-track tapes of the sessions with respect to the original Beatles' preferred mono mix by his father, George Martin.The Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Anniversary Editions include:A CD of the new stereo mix of 'Sgt. Pepper', complete with the original UK 'Edit for LP End' 'run-out groove'.Deluxe.
