At the beginning of October the second album of the American band The Killers called Sam's Town will be released. The Killers are a gloriously successful rock-kicking bunch who, with their debut album Hot Fuss in June 2004, contributed to a vigorous revival of pop music alongside new British bands. Hot Fuss has sold over five million worldwide, and singles such as Somebody Told Me and Mr. Brightside have topped the charts, the Grammys and the Video Music Awards.On August 31st, the Killers will perform at this year's 23rd Video Music Awards in New York.The new album, Sam's Town, was recorded at Palm Studios in Las Vegas, where the Killers hail from, under the production supervision of two Brits. The producers are Flood (Mark Ellis) and Alan Moulder (Smashing Pumpkins, U2, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine, respectively).The album's first single is When You Were Young, according to Rolling Stone magazine " a gloriously nostalgic affair that gets into your heart with every listen...it's right in between retro style and timelessness". Sam's Town is the second studio album by American rock band The Killers , released on October 2, 2006 by Island Records. The album was produced by Flood, Alan Moulder and The Killers . The album was recorded at The Killers' own Battle Born Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada. The album's title is derived from the name of the city in which the band's frontman Brandon Flowers was born, in addition to the fact that the album was recorded at the band's own Battle Born Studios.
