"It's a monster that the White Stripes created... Forward and remember." Rolling Stone
In the fall of 2002, when even the gatekeepers of high culture were suddenly pondering the phenomenon of "the" bands, the Detroit band that started the trend was in the studio recording its fourth album, "Elephant." A year later, this album, recorded in ten days in a small London studio called Toe Rag, launched Jack and Meg White around the world. In England and the USA, the brother-sister duo (?) had already gone platinum and been nominated for four Grammy Awards, while in Germany the album spent a long six months in the charts. The sound is anything but "superstar", but raw and simply honest. More than three chords, but only two instruments. While Spex's 2003 single "Seven Nation Army" may confuse some, there's no bass here either.

"Je to monstrum, které White Stripes vytvořili... Vpřed a nezapomenout." Rolling Stone
