Tindersticks is an English alternative rock-pop band formed in 1991 by singer Stuart A. Staples. Early in their career, they recorded several highly acclaimed albums that became well known years after their release. One of them is the light-hearted yet deeply dark Curtains, whose songs prove to be intimidating and devastating gems. With content to be worked through, Stuart & co. set the melancholic melodies and cover the equally melancholic vocals. The highlights of Curtains certainly include the slightly livelier singles Rented Rooms and Bathtime, as well as Let's Pretend, (Tonight) Are You Trying To Fall In Love Again? and the beautiful duet with Anne Magnuson, Buried Bones. Tindersticks have released a total of 11 studio albums to date. The very authentic lyrics were written by Stuart A. Staples and are based on his own life experiences or from his immediate surroundings.

Tindersticks' third album, Curtains, is the most praised by fans. The seductive sound, the fantastic songs, the relaxed vocals are just some of the catchphrases of many press reviews. Isabella Rossellini appears as a guest and sings a duet with Stuart Staples, which was a welcome surprise to fans who were still growing at the time. The Tindesticks have always stayed away from the standards of the Britpop/rock scene and have become a band that cannot be easily pigeonholed. After two really dark, string-soaked albums, they've managed to create a lighter and brighter sound with Curtains, but have subtly enriched it with their love of the dark side, as well as humour, melancholy and intimacy. This album has more depth than its two predecessors. The included bonus CD with various alternate versions, instrumental recordings and b-sides makes this reissue complete.
