Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will release a joint live album in January!This September, swing and jazz fans were treated to one of the best albums of the last decade. Legendary jazzman Tony Bennett and pop diva Lady Gaga met in the studio. Their joint album Cheek To Cheek hit the charts in most of Europe and, of course, also in America and Australia. Soon fans will be able to enjoy this unique combination visually...The album Cheek To Cheek, which is also up for one of this year's Grammy Awards, was recorded in New York by the two music icons and the whole process took over a year. The album features not only duets by both artists, but also several songs that Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga recorded separately. In any case, it offers the best pieces from the jazz history of the so-called Great American Songbook, i.e. such legendary jazz and swing songs as Anything Goes, It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing), Sophisticated Lady, Lush Life or the title track Cheek To Cheek... Both artists supported the release of the album with several unique concerts. The first of these took place at New York's Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall, which Bennett and Gaga attended in late July. And it was this show that was recorded for a subsequent release. Nineteen songs were performed during the unique concert, during which the two stars were accompanied by a thirty-nine-piece orchestra conducted by the renowned Jorge Calandrelli. The ensemble also included several special guests - trumpeter Chris Botti, David Mann on saxophone and jazz musicians who are part of Tony Bennett's backing quartet... This show will be available on DVD and Blu-ray from 16 January 2015 as Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga: Cheek To Cheek LIVE! In addition to the above songs, we can also look forward to renditions of the legendary songs They All Laughed, Lady's In Love With You, Goody Goody, Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, Don't Wait Too Long and Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye...The concert footage, which, thanks to the use of 4K Ultra High Definition (HD) format, guarantees the best possible visual experience, clearly proves that jazz and swing still have a firm place among the popular music genres and at the same time confirms that both Bennett and Lady Gaga are rightfully among the best performers of today...
