On her third pop album Boys For Pele, released almost exactly 20 years ago, Tori Amos not only proved herself to be an exceptional songwriter and unique performer, but it was also the first album she produced on her own and on her own. The album became one of her most successful, catapulting to #2 on the US and UK charts, and the title track reached the Top 10 in Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Boys For Pele is released on Rhino in a lavish deluxe edition that includes B-sides, rarities and four previously unreleased tracks, as well as a remastered original album. Boys For Pele Deluxe is released as a 2CD and the original album (without bonus tracks) is also available as a 2LP. Not only technically, Boys For Pele is an uncompromising work that revolves around mythology ("Pele" is a Hawaiian volcano goddess), oppression and self-discovery. Boys For Pele became a turning point in Amos' career. Alongside fan favourites such as Caught A Light Sneeze and Hey Jupiter, Armand Van Helden's breakthrough remix of Professional Widow was a hit, reaching number one in the UK singles and dance charts.

Boys For Pele je třetí studiové album amerického zpěváka a skladatele Tori Amos , které vyšlo 22. ledna 1996 u vydavatelství Atlantic Records. Album bylo nahráno v Cornwallu v Anglii a produkovali ho Amos a její dlouholetý spolupracovník John Philip Shenale. Album Boys for Pele je odklonem od předchozí tvorby Amosové a vyznačuje se agresivnějším a rockovějším zvukem. Název alba odkazuje na řeckého boha Peleho, který prý měl harém mladých chlapců. Amos uvedl, že album je o "ženské síle" a že je to "deska o hněvu a vzteku a o vykupitelské síle ženy". Album Boys for Pele se setkalo se smíšeným hodnocením hudebních kritiků, ale bylo komerčně úspěšné a dostalo se na druhé místo žebříčku Billboard 200.
