He is pleased that the recording took him out of his comfort zone and into a world without borders. The first taste was the playful and danceable single Mr. Beat, inspired by Rowan Atkinson and the character Mr. Bean. The album D.Y.K., which was co-written by renowned musician and producer Ondřej Pivec, will be released on November 22nd by Universal Music. Along with it, Vojtěch Dyk has announced a spring tour, on which he will be accompanied by top musicians from New York.The album was produced entirely in New York in collaboration with Ondřej Pivec, who has a Grammy Award at home for his album with Gregory Porter. The acclaimed musician, who has been living in New York for ten years, also invited his band Kennedy Administration to join the recording process. "I have been working on the idea of recording an album abroad for about nine years. I wanted to get out of the comfort zone of the Czech Republic, where I know almost all the people in the music industry, and move a little further into my own inner self, into the musical universe, into a world without borders. Thanks to Ondřej Pivec and the Kennedy Administration, I have created my uncompromisingly free CD in New York," says Vojtěch Dyk, who has long been musically associated mainly with the Brno B-Side Band of bandleader Josef Buchta. "When Vojta approached me some time ago and said that he would be interested in collaborating with me on a new project, I had no idea how extensive and artistically satisfying the work ahead of me would be. The combination of Vojta's natural talent, the New York musicians and the environment I could provide has created, in my opinion, an exceptional and unusually high quality project by European standards, which has the potential to go down in musical history," adds Ondřej Pivec. So I thought that if the record was going to be from me, it had to be diverse, which it was," comments Dyk on the diversity of the record. Thanks to the members of the Kennedy Administration, the album is scented with authentic influences of American culture, pop, jazz and soul, and many of the songs are built on Hammond's keyboards, which are perfectly controlled by Ondřej Pivec.Spring tour dates|:30.5.
