The Highwayman were a country supergroup, a compilation of four of the genre's biggest names with their pioneering "outlaw country" sound: Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson. When the genre's best artists come together, you can expect a work of genius. The album is an amazing combination of talent and songwriting. "Highwaymen 2" is the second album by this supergroup to climb to #4 on the country album chart. The song "Silver Stallion", written by Lee Clayton, was the first single to hit the Country Top 40. The album was produced by Moman and was nominated for a Grammy for "Best Country Vocal Collaboration"! Six songs were written or co-written by members of the group.
