The album Stardust, released in 1978 on Willie Nelson , is a collection of pop standards that Nelson recorded with Booker T. Jones on organ and piano. The album was commercially successful, reaching number one on the Billboard Country Albums chart and number three on the Billboard Pop Albums chart. The album's biggest hit was Hoagy Carmichael's version of "Georgia on My Mind", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.

Then, of course, we engaged Gary Salstrom and his people at Quality Record Pressings, who did the electroplating and pressed the 200g LP with exceptionally good sound. Presented packaged in a heavy old-style sleeve with a hand-applied printed sheet, recognisable by the typical folding, from Stoughton Printing. Unrivalled quality, unrivalled sound - that's how Analogue Productions works. With this major addition to his list of releases, Willie has finally scored a big hit. The songs - "Moonlight In Vermont," "All Of Me," "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" - were lovingly arranged by Booker T. Jones, best known for the "Green Onions" album, and were recorded in Nelson's inimitable style at Emmylou Harris' home. Underpinning the mood of these sessions was the distinctive sound of Booker T. Here, Willie and co. play a laid-back groove that sounds like sitting at home on a patio overlooking the beautiful Texas hills. Nelson's "Stardust" remains a brilliant work and the most commercially successful of his recordings, a truly great record imbued with the utmost respect for the songwriters and lyrics, as well as many of the best performances of Willie's career.
