"Hydra" is a studio album by the Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation, released in 2014. The album showcases the band's signature blend of powerful vocals, heavy guitar riffs, and orchestral elements. It features a diverse range of tracks, including the energetic "Dangerous," which is a collaboration with former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones, and "Paradise (What About Us?)," a duet with former Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen. Other notable songs on the album include "Tell Me Why," "Edge Of The World," and "Let Us Burn," which deliver the epic soundscapes fans have come to expect from Within Temptation. The band also experiments with different genres, as seen in "And We Run," featuring rapper Xzibit. "Covered By Roses," "Silver Moonlight," and "Dog Days" further showcase the band's ability to create emotionally charged anthems. The album concludes with "Whole World Is Watching," which has two versions, one featuring Dave Pirner from Soul Asylum and another with Polish singer Piotr Rogucki for the Polish edition of the album. "Hydra" represents Within Temptation's continued evolution as a band and their commitment to pushing the boundaries of symphonic metal.
