Wolfmother is an Australian hard rock band from Sydney, formed in 2004, consisting of singer and guitarist Andrew Stockdale, bassist and keyboardist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett. Wolfmother released their self-titled debut album in Australia in 2005. The album reached number three on the Australian album chart and was awarded a platinum record by the Australian Recording Industry Association.

The anniversary edition of "Wolfmother" will be released as a 2CD deluxe version, a digital package and also - for the first time in the US - as a double LP with original artwork by Frank Frazetta. The double vinyl is pressed as an audiophile 180g "heavyweight", features four bonus B-sides including "The Earth's Rotation Around The Sun", an acoustic version of "Vagabond", Loving Hands remix of "Joker & the Thief" and Mstrkrft remix of "Woman" - and comes with a download voucher for the digital version of the album. Thirteen tracks from the original album on CD1 are complemented by an additional disc of demos, B-sides, remixes and live recordings; many of which come from the fabulous "Velvet Sound Demo". It includes classic tracks like "Woman" (Best Hard Rock Performance at the 2007 Grammys) and rock radio perennials "Joker & the Thief" and "White Unicorn" along with international hits like "Mind's Eye," "Dimension" and "Love Train." Critics are fond of referring to the band's raw energy, comparing them to Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and classic psychedelic bands like Blue Cheer.

Perhaps no other debut album this year is more anticipated than that of Australian rock trio Wolfmother. Wolfmother's music defies all current musical trends, although comparisons could perhaps be made to the UK's The Darkness, but then again, the irony isn't there.
