The album Yes : Time and a Word, released in 1970, is an example of the band's early progressive rock. The album contains a mixture of shorter, more accessible songs and longer, more complex pieces and is characterised by the band's distinctive harmonies and virtuoso playing. Highlights include the title track "The Prophet" and "Yours Is No Disgrace". Although the album is not as well known as some of the band's later efforts, it is essential for fans of progressive rock and represents a strong debut for Yes .
