The fifth record ZZ Top, released in November 1976, showed a softer, almost country side to the otherwise gritty blues rockers. On tracks like "It's Only Love" and "El Diablo," Gibbons' guitar had as much grace as bite, someone brought out the fiddle and accordion on "She's a Heartbreaker," and on the instrumental "Asleep in the Desert" it was Spanish guitars.
